Here are some of our most frequently asked questions.  If you have a question not listed here, please call or email us!

Q: How do you get water?
A: The van has a 60 gallon fresh water tank with an electric water heater. Your pet will always be bathed in clean, warm water.  There is a separate tank to hold the dirty water, we do not recycle water.

Q: Why do you charge more than my old groomer?
A: In addition to the convenience, mobile grooming allows the groomer to focus on personal care for your pet.  I take a very limited number of appointments each day--less than I would be able to groom in a shop.  I come to you and groom your pet straight-through. This is an extra “Express” service for most grooming shops. I use the highest quality of products and equipment for the best experience possible for your pet.  Try mobile and see the difference for yourself.

Q: What's the best way to reach you?
A: I can be reached by phone or email.  Most of the time, you can expect to get the voicemail because I don't answer the phone while driving or grooming a dog so please leave a detailed message.  I try to return calls and emails as soon as possible, usually in the evening.

Q: When can I get an appointment?

A: How soon you can get an appointment depends on how flexible your schedule can be.   Although we will do everything possible to accommodate your schedule and book an appointment when it is convenient for you, we also try to schedule appointments in the same area on the same day and take a limited number of appointments per day. You may have to wait a couple weeks or longer for an appointment, so please call early or book your next appointment in advance.  Appointments are available as early as 9 am and and late as 5 pm.  Saturday appointments are also available.  I strongly encourage setting up a schedule and pre-booking your appointments.  Your pet is kept looking its best and you are assured the day/time that works best for you!

Q: Do I have to be home for the appointment?
A: First time customers must be present for the appointment.  This is so I can meet you and your pet, answer any questions, and get detailed grooming instructions.  After the first appointment, you do not have to be home.  Arrangements can be made so that you can go to work and come home to a freshly groomed pet.

Q: How often does my dog need to be groomed?
A:  Most dogs need to be groomed about once a month.  Short-haired dogs may be able to go 8-12 weeks between grooms, but we recommend monthly appointments if your goal is to minimize shedding.  We do not do “once-a-year makeovers.” Dogs that only receive grooming once a year usually have resulting health concerns that should be addressed by a vet.

Q: How old should my puppy be for his first haircut?
A: It’s never too soon to have your puppy groomed. Grooming early and grooming often will help your puppy become more socialized and tolerant of all of life’s sensations. We suggest getting your puppy groomed to experience the bath, the dryer, and the clippers as soon as they’ve had their second round of puppy booster vaccinations-- usually around 10-12 weeks of age. Puppies may or may not need a hair cut the first time, but should get a bath and a nail trim for the practice!  We will slowly introduce grooming to your puppy to teach him that grooming is not something to fear.

Q: What payments do you accept?  Do you take credit cards?
A: Our preferred payment method is personal check.  There is a $35 fee for checks returned by the bank.  Cash is always accepted, but please don't expect us to be able to make change as we cannot safely carry it.  All major credit cards are accepted.  We also accept payments through paypal.

Q: Do you do flea dips?

A: No, we do not use "dips."  Instead we have a flea shampoo and if your pet has fleas, it will be bathed in flea shampoo.  The flea shampoo will kill the live fleas on your pet, but offers no lasting protection.  In the spring season, we offer single dose applications of Frontline Plus for dogs.
